(light instrumental music) – Hi everybody, my name is Sergiu Fediuc for the Center of Healthy Living.
And I'm here today todayto give you two tips on how to make exercisesustainable for you.
Tip one, set realistic goals.
A lot of people, when they decide to change their lifestyle, they go from not exercising at all, to exercising a whole lot.
Oftentimes that's not sustainable in the long run.
So what we recommend at the Center for Healthy Living, is that people start small.
Set a realistic goal that you know you're gonna be able to sustain.
So instead of goingfrom no exercise at all, to five to six days a week, plan on going for perhaps two 30 minute walks per week.
During busy times, plan for a short workoutthroughout the day.
Set 15 to 20 minutes aside during the day, where nothing is going to interfere with your exercise.
Tip two, be adventurous.
Try new things.
You don't always have to go to the gym in orderto get exercise, physical activity can be fun.
In the summertime go mountain biking or hiking in your local park.
In the winter, go snowshoeing or cross country skiing.
There are lots of things out there that you haven't tried but you might really enjoy.
So get out there and try new things.
And you're going to be on your way to a healthier lifestyle.
